My name is Mimosa Thomas. I am
seven years old. I think helping is cool. Helping means to do
something kind. I help a lot.
I did a food drive for people who don't have
much food. My mom and I went to the store and bought some Thanksgiving
foods for people who are poor. We bought sweet potatoes and
marshmallows, bread, green beans, mashed potatoes and stuffing for the food
drive. We put it in a collection box for the food drive.
I give ten percent of my allowance every week
to people who can't afford houses and things like that. I wrote a letter to
George Bush to tell him some things that he should consider doing, like
stopping wars and feeding the poor.
I adopted two turkeys so that instead of being
Thanksgiving dinner, the turkeys would have a nice home. Their names
are Fionna and Pow Wow and they live on a farm now.
Every year, I take an angel from an angel
tree at my mom's work. The angel tree is where there are angel
ornaments put on a little tree and on them are names of poor kids.
When we got the angels, we went shopping. We bought socks, coats,
clothes and toys for the two babies we got from the angel tree. We
wrapped them up and turned them in to my mom's office where they deliver the
presents to the people who need them.
I help because I know that people need me.
I think that everyone should do what they can to help also. I feel
good for helping.
